In addition to the school classes at last year’s show there were at least 30 other classes for children aged 16 and under, all free of charge to enter; children can also enter the open classes but there is an entry fee of 25p for these. We hope to have at least 30 classes again this year for children. Prize money is £1.50, £1.00 and 50p and there are nine trophies for children’s classes but again there is no reason why you shouldn’t compete for the other trophies on offer – it has been known for some of these to be won by juniors.
In the WILD AND TAMED section of the Show there are classes, amongst other things, for Potatoes in a Bucket, Longest Runner Bean and Largest Sunflower Head and if you would like to take part growing these then free seed is available from the Show Committee, please use the contact link for Pam Rose. Seed is automatically given to Sturton Brownies and Willingham Cubs so if you are a member of these then there is no need to request seed from Pam.
125th Show schedules and entry forms will be available later in the year and will be at the Village Store in Sturton by Stow and the Post Office at Stow; they are automatically delivered to Show Vice Presidents and exhibitors from the previous year’s show.
